With this in mind, is it time for the SG to expand its role?

This story never fails to make me cackle each time I search online for Swiss Guard porn pictures and it pops up.

In case you're too lazy to click the link, I will force my favourite bit on you:

I tried to keep a straight face, but I had another problem. I had skipped French class the day the teacher taught us how to say, "This woman is a psychotic freak who is threatening to stab us in the presence of the Pope."

After several botched attempts, I constructed a halfway grammatical sentence. "This woman is being very violent. She is attacking us."

The guard looked at me like I was insane. Our assailant stood calmly smirking in the distance.

Joy of joys! Another Swiss Guard fancier! He loves them so much, he bought the outfit. Well, probably made it himself.

Have you ever wondered what Charlie Chaplin would look like if he were a Swiss Guard? Well, thanks to Christine and ebay, we now know...

You dears deserve a treat. So please, enjoy Eddie Izzard's ramblings about the Swiss Guards.

It's just under a mb, and his giggles make it worth the download.

Art for Guards' Sake [08 Dec 2002|10:22pm]

It seemed only fitting that I do a little research about these valorous souls, the Swiss Guards, before I joined this community. Well! I discovered that the Guards have a long association with the great artists of Italy. Not only were their costumes uniforms designed by Michelangelo, but they were also depicted in the great painter Raphael's fresco of the Mass of Bolsena. I'm especially impressed by the sensitive depiction of the fine upstanding young man in the middle...

I cannot believe this community only has three members! And only two of which really know the seedy underside that is the Vatican Guard fascination.

I am saddened! Yea, saddened. So to lessen the pain, I demand every member of this community caption this picture. I decree it. By order of the pope. I'll go first. Ahem...

"The closest he ever got to being laid."

I'm going to hell.

Because I have nothing better to do, I've changed the community's color scheme to match the Swiss Guards' uniforms.

Well, to match them in that "two shades darker" sort of way. Because the glaring brightness of an exact match was too painful for my poor, photosensitive eyes.
